Botanic: the art of hospitality in a hotel magazine

Hospitality is an art. And Botanic Sanctuary Antwerp masters it to perfection. In every detail, every gesture, every story their guests experience. That refinement recently took on an extra dimension with the new issue of BOTANIC Magazine … which we were very proud to help write.

In September, our copywriters Laura and Emma visited the hotel, situated in an oasis of peace and greenery right in the heart of the city. A full day of interviews, intense encounters and conversations that linger in the mind. And the result is impressive: a stylish, 100-page hotel magazine featuring a dozen long-form articles in English that are sure to inspire an international audience. Oh, how we love our job.

The art of storytelling

Just like hospitality, creating a high-quality hotel magazine is an art in itself. The art of storytelling.

It all starts with one fundamental question: “Who is the target audience?”. For BOTANIC Magazine, that means tourists, hotel guests and passers-by with a love of storytelling, gastronomy and refined experiences. People who are inspired by the hotel, the Michelin-starred restaurants, the spa, the architecture and the many hidden gems Antwerp has to offer.

These stories come together in the latest edition of BOTANIC Magazine. We spoke with Tanguy Ottomer about Antwerp’s historic landmarks – from Central Station and the Bourla to the cathedral, the town hall and the KMSKA. The Michelin-starred chefs from Hertog Jan, Fine Fleur, Bar Bulot and Henry’s Bar & Bistro also shared their visions and latest creations for autumn 2025. Mouth-watering, without a doubt.

Curious? The magazine is waiting for you. Pop into the hotel, pick up a copy, find a quiet spot on the site and immerse yourself. Because that’s what Botanic Sanctuary does: inviting every tourist, guest or passer-by to be part of their story.

Multilingualism is key

Antwerp is a cosmopolitan city. And for the diverse, international audience visiting our beautiful city of biscuits, we deliberately wrote all the articles in English from the outset.

Multilingualism is a natural part of our profession. At KDV – Language & More, we switch effortlessly between languages, sometimes with the help of native speakers, and always with an eye for tone, context and narrative.

Storytelling as the foundation of good hospitality

Good hospitality is built on strong storytelling. A quality hotel simply has a story to tell – about its history, architecture, interior, gastronomy and the people who work there every day. That depth enriches the hotel guest’s experience … because those who understand where they are staying enjoy it all the more.

A hotel magazine plays a key role in this. It provides answers even before the questions are asked: “Which spots should I not miss?” Check. “Where can I catch a show?” Check. “Which museums are worth a visit and where can I go for dinner tonight?” Check, check.

A magazine like this as the foundation for good hospitality is worth its weight in gold. And Lindner Hotel Antwerp and the City of Hoogstraten know this too, as they are launching their own magazine this spring, which we had the pleasure of developing from start to finish.
