Technical content marketing for Louwers Mediagroep

There are certain clients who are a constant presence at KDV – Language & More. One such loyal client is Louwers Media Group, which has been publishing numerous trade journals across various industries – ranging from the metal to the green sector – for over 35 years. At KDV – Language & More, we are happy to put our technical writing skills to work to take these articles to the next level.

For over a year and a half now, we have been regular editors for some of their trade journals:

  • Metaalvak: A magazine for everyone active in the metal and steel processing industry. From articles on the latest laser cutting machines to a report on the Belgian Forklift Driving Championship.
  • GreenPro: Everything for gardening and landscaping professionals. In this magazine, you’ll discover the latest agricultural machinery and tips for maintaining all kinds of green spaces.
  • Keep it Green: A more niche offshoot of GreenPro, specifically aimed at managers of football pitches and golf courses. It features, among other things, interviews with the best groundsmen.
  • Industrial Automation: A platform for anyone involved in production and process automation. From the latest robots to the newest technical innovations.

Balancing content

We gather information and identify the client’s needs through interviews. Some want to launch a new product, others wish to highlight a successful partnership. Where possible, we conduct these interviews digitally: more time-efficient for both the client and us. But if necessary, we are just as happy to head out to conduct interviews and take our camera with us to capture the necessary images straight away. For example, Katrien recently went out to cover K2025, the trade fair for the plastics industry.

Writing for Louwers Mediagroep is content marketing in its purest form. Striking a balance between the client’s commercial requirements and the readers’ expectations (added value, information) is a delicate task. Added to this is the fact that the often technical and complex projects must be written in an accessible yet in-depth manner – within the specified character limit. A unique mix, but one that we at KDV – Language & More have elevated to an art form.

An article for Louwers Mediagroep appears in multiple formats. In addition to the print version, there is also an online version and social media content. This cross-pollination is one of the media company’s key priorities, and also the philosophy we at KDV – Language & More are keen to follow.

Collaboration

What makes this collaboration so rewarding? Writing for Louwers Mediagroep’s trade journals gives us the chance to showcase our technical writing skills. The close contact with the magazine editors, who occasionally put us to the test when it comes to deadlines, and all the wonderful products, people and projects we get to see: it reinforces our belief in the power of stories. Stories are everywhere, and whether they’re about the latest range of records or innovative booking software, they’re worth telling.
